Club Care Objectives
|
Club Cares intends to provide low cost housing or material assistance to those who are suffering due to a lack of financial resources, disabilities, sickness and other crisis which are impeding on their quality of life. We will identify deserving recipients through working with local welfare organisations. |
| |
How can we do this?
|
It is our intention to seek tax deductible donations from the public, invest those donations in investments that will create for us a reliable and constant income stream. By doing this we may offer these securities from time to time as collateral for loans from financial institutions to carry out our mission.
|
With these loans it will be our intention to acquire property that will then be offered at a subsidised rental rate (or free of rent if the recipients status warrants it). The need level of the individual recipients will be determined by Club Cares Trustees in consultation with the Salvation Army as well as the Smith Family both who are widely recognised for their worth with disadvantaged members of our community. |
 | |
Goals:
|
Not only will we assist the recipients by immediately improving their quality of life, our longer term goal is to work with recipients to help them better manage their own financial affairs for their future, enabling them to become self-sufficient.
Some initial steps have been
Providing funds to continue paraplegic benefits.
Providing equipment to improve paraplegic lifestyle from research. To achieve this $100,000 was donated by Kevin and Kathy in June 2007.
A donation to women’s breast cancer research. This worthwhile donation of $95,000 came anonymously from a Club investor. A big thank you!
Funds to support education and job training for overseas children. $15,000 has been donated to Child Fund Australia by many TIC investors . Thank you! And to keep our promise, Club Cares will be matching this donation.
Plans Afoot
Albany branch is investigating ways to assist street kids in Albany. Updates will be on our website soon.
Darwin branch is supporting a local Aboriginal artist with equipment and a website as a marketing outlet. Their aim is to soon have him self sufficient and then move to assist others in need with various support. Look for great artwork for sale soon. At our last national conference in Sydney a bid of $4,500.00 was submitted at the Club auction for 1 of the paintings that were donated by the Aboriginal artist. The proceeds went to Women’s Breast Cancer in Sydney. |
