Our story is much like many I have heard. In 1998 we purchased a property at Chevron Island before we had heard of The Investors Club and, despite our best efforts; we quickly found it was worth far less than we paid for it.
We really knew that property investing could work for us however our first experience made us extremely cautious to the point where we were not going to invest again. All invitations to attend slick sales presentations for a specific property were rejected although we did continue to read and learn how others had done well.
One day we passed an Investors Club booth at a 2000 home show and picked up the magazine. What we read made sense so we went to a meeting nearby and found out much we did not know. What we found most important in the meeting was the coffee break where we met others who had had a similar first experience to ours and had found confidence in the Club. The fact that we could identify easily with those presenting at the meeting was also comforting. It wasn’t long before we purchased our first Club property. What a relief to be provided with useful information about the properties we inspected and then a bonus to find that the Club offers a range of additional services free.
Since that time we have purchased an additional four properties from the Club and have been pleased with each of them. Now we use the Club for our finance and insurance needs and have been more than happy with those services. Rents have met or exceeded our expectations and we have had something like one week total between all the properties without a tenant in over six years. These properties will allow us to retire on our terms and leave a legacy to our children.
